Staff summarized next steps: document the parent request, determine whether the statutory threshold has been met, notify parents, teachers and advisory councils, and identify costs and resources needed to implement the program if the district finds implementation possible. Trustees asked staff to consult with labor partners and to return with a proposed timeline at the August meeting.
