Kristea A. Francolino, Manager of Executive Support Services, told the committee that the budget meeting schedule "has been developed and is listed on the Board's website." She added that the schedule will also be shared through social media and the district's 'What's Next with NLPS' publication to boost awareness and participation in upcoming budget conversations.
Committee members discussed ways to use the schedule to increase community understanding of the budget process and to point residents toward opportunities to comment or attend. The committee emphasized that communicating the timeline clearly is part of its charge to increase communication across the community; members said outreach may include both announcements of positive developments and explanations of budget challenges.
