Board approves flood-related tax credits, reappoints County Assessor

Following June flooding, the board approved Local Option Disaster Credits for two damaged properties (estimated credits of $4,210 and $1,216) and reappointed David Grev as County Assessor for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
County Assessor Dave Grev told the board that properties damaged in excess of 50% of real property value as a result of June 2024 flooding may be eligible for a Local Option Disaster Credit. The board approved an application filed by Marilee Strom for parcel listed in the minutes as 25.831.0040 (the same line also lists 25.831.0400, an apparent discrepancy in the minutes) and granted an estimated credit of $4,210 for 2025 taxes payable on that parcel. The board also approved a second application from Leonard Kallsen for parcel 25.831.0120 and granted an estimated credit of $1,216.
The board voted to reappoint David Grev as County Assessor for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025; Auditor/Treasurer Carolyn Rempel administered the Assessor Oath of Office during the meeting. Motions approving the credits and the reappointment passed unanimously.
