Commissioners approve tax abatement for Strom property; set hearing for Johnson project

Chairman Norman Holmen opened a public hearing called by Windom EDA Director Tiffany Lamb on a tax-abatement request from Marilee W. Strom (trustee) and David B. Strom (co-applicant) for a new single-family home. No public comments were received; Commissioner Donna Gravley moved and Commissioner Kevin Stevens seconded a roll-call motion to adopt Resolution 24-10-15 approving the tax abatement under Minn. Stat. 469.1813. The motion passed unanimously.
Lamb also reported receipt of a Home Initiative application from Lane and Kathy Johnson and asked the board to schedule a public hearing. Commissioner Tom Appel moved and Commissioner Kevin Stevens seconded to approve Resolution 24-10-15A calling for a public hearing on the proposed tax abatement; that motion likewise passed by unanimous roll call. The resolutions are on file in the County Coordinator’s office.
