The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 29 approved final payments to Mathiowetz Construction for two highway projects, including a bridge repair and a culvert and county tile crossing repair.
Public Works Director Nick Klisch told the board Project 017-598-011 covered bridge repairs on County Road 99 that were damaged by late‑June flood waters; the board approved a final payment of $155,849.35 to Mathiowetz Construction (motion by Tom Appel, second by Larry Anderson). Klisch also requested final payment for Project 017-607-024, repair of a 24" culvert and 15" county tile crossing under CSAH 7 about 1.1 miles south of Highway 30; the board approved payment of $66,166.20 (motion by Donna Gravley, second by Kevin Stevens).
Both motions passed by unanimous vote. The payments were presented as final payments to close out the listed projects; the meeting minutes do not specify additional retention, punch‑list items, or outstanding claims.
The approvals were recorded in the meeting minutes as final payments to Mathiowetz Construction for the two projects.
