Residents press council on easement delays, quarry blasting effects and bridge plans

During the public session residents raised infrastructure and safety concerns. Robert Armstrong said he had "a difficult time hearing the Council" and urged officials to move on easement approvals near his property. Jim Lame and other residents said they have waited for JCP&L pole-location responses for up to two years as easement approvals lingered. Mr. Lame said he understood a wider easement might be necessary because of utilities but asked whether building permits could proceed before final utility responses.
Craig Taylor, Julie Diez and William Colon described damage to ceilings and floors they attribute to quarry blasting and asked whether their homes are safe; Mr. Colon said "you can see waves in our ceiling" and both he and Ms. Diez described floors that feel uneven. Kris Gordon asked whether the borough had contacted the county about Bridge Street bridge plans and egress to Willow Grove Court; Councilwoman Ruitenberg said county staff would look into the question. The council committed to follow up with JCP&L, the applicant’s engineer and county contacts where relevant.
