The Village of Mazon Personnel Committee entered executive session at 12:09 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2024, to discuss "the employment compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body" under the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)). The motion to enter closed session was made by D. Punke and seconded by Chairman Kirk Houchin; a roll call recorded D. Misener, K. Houchin and D. Punke voting yes.
After the closed session the committee reconvened in regular session by a motion from D. Misener, seconded by D. Punke; the same three members recorded yes votes. Committee members agreed the reviews "went well" and discussed follow-up steps, including documenting overtime use and organizational changes in the public works department. The committee scheduled a follow-up meeting for Oct. 9, 2024, and adjourned at 3:59 p.m.
