Summary

Tom Dunphy, chair of the 7‑11 committee, told the board the citizen committee reviewed enrollment capacity, site visits and zoning to develop recommendations for multiple vacant district parcels. For the Rock Creek corner parcel the committee "recommends that the district continues to own this property and look at leasing it out or investigate leasing the property to create an income stream," he said, citing tolerable uses such as service or retail trade.
On the larger Sherling Tract the committee recommended agricultural or school‑farm uses for three parcels and selling one residential parcel into the Vintage Oaks community. Trustees pressed staff on deed restrictions and sale procedures; the committee reported it found no deed restrictions in its review and noted legal and title work remains. The board directed staff to consult legal counsel and the district financial advisor and return with valuation and next steps before any sale or lease.
