Committee forwards Oak Grove Hillside‑Bellemeade community plan to amend the master plan

Mary Anne Pitts of the Department of Planning and Development Review presented an amendment to the master plan to incorporate the Oak Grove Hillside‑Bellemeade community plan, which she said was developed with community input from 2023–2025 and focuses on protecting the residential core while guiding corridor development.
"This plan... was crafted between 2023 and 2025, sending the vision for the area bounded by Maury, Commerce Road, Bellemeade, both sides of Richmond Highway," Pitts said. Council members thanked staff for the community engagement and urged that implementation benchmarks and a clear timeline be provided to ensure the plan moves from study to action.
The committee held a public hearing with no speakers and voted to forward the amendment to council with a recommendation to approve. Staff committed to follow up with implementation benchmarks and timelines for committee review.
