The Ogdensburg Mayor and Council approved multiple routine but substantive items on the consent agenda at their June 23 meeting.
Resolution 61-2025 authorizes the Borough Clerk to renew liquor licenses for the 2025–2026 licensing year (effective July 1, 2025). Resolution 62-2025 approves the temporary appointment of William Joseph Van Tassel to a full-time Laborer 1 position in the Department of Public Works at an hourly rate of $18.00, with the appointment not to exceed six months in a 12-month period and contingent on a negative criminal-history background check and fingerprinting within one month of hire. Council also approved Resolution 64-2025 and Resolution 65-2025 to submit grant applications and execute NJ Department of Transportation grant contracts for Kennedy Avenue Resurfacing Phase 1 and Cork Hill Road Resurfacing Phase 1; those resolutions are on file with the clerk.
The consent vote was recorded with five members present voting in the affirmative and one member absent. Councilman Ciasullo asked that two consent items (seven and eight) be discussed at the next meeting to follow up on stormwater permit questions and water distribution issues under the Brooks Flat Road bridge.
