The applicant presented amended plans for a site on South Washington Street that shrink the gravel laydown area by roughly 24,000 square feet, remove expensive retaining walls in favor of graded side slopes, and convert part of the planned subsurface infiltration to a conventional surface basin seeded with native vegetation.
Commission members raised concerns about erosion on the proposed side slopes and the loss of structural curbing that previously helped control sheet flow. The commission voted to require a peer review with attention to stormwater operations and to continue the public hearing to allow time for the peer‑review letter and any supplemental engineering. "I would ask that this be peer reviewed, with special attention towards stormwater operations and management," the Chair said before the vote.
