Mark Zordan of Johnson Engineering presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report and told the Board that Lee County reviewed and approved the document. "Lee County reviewed and approved the Report and it will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in advance of the November 1, 2024 deadline," the minutes state.
Zordan said the new permit the district will need to apply for is anticipated in the fall but no release date is known, so staff were instructed to continue into Year 8. The Board and staff discussed that water-sampling requirements in future permit cycles could change and that a Johnson Engineering representative attends bi-monthly Lee County NPDES meetings and forwards minutes to the District Manager.
