The Board of Education for Lindop School District 92 voted on June 24, 2026 to hire Lorenzo Russell as superintendent under a three-year employment agreement effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. President Patterson moved the agreement and Ms. Johnson seconded; the motion carried with four votes in favor and two opposed (Yes: Patterson, Dawson, Johnson, Myrick; No: Buchanan, Griffin; Absent: Hannah).
The written agreement, approved “subject to final approval and execution of the written employment agreement in substantially the form presented by the Board,” specifies an annual base salary of $185,000.00 for the first contract year and salary increases of three percent in each subsequent year contingent upon the superintendent’s satisfactory attainment of performance goals and evaluations. The board took the action immediately after reconvening from an executive session and recorded no additional public discussion in the minutes.
"Motion by President Patterson, Seconded by Ms. Johnson to approve the three year Superintendent Employment Agreement between the Board of Education and Lorenzo Russell, subject to final approval and execution of the written employment agreement in substantially the form presented by the Board, providing for an annual base salary of $185,000.00 for the first year, with salary increases of three percent (3%) in each subsequent contract year contingent upon the Superintendent's satisfactory attainment of performance goals and evaluations as outlined in the Agreement."
The vote was not unanimous: Mr. Buchanan and Ms. Griffin voted against the motion. The minutes do not record the reasons for the two dissenting votes or any alternate salary figures; the agreement will become effective when the final written contract is signed. The board announced its next regular meeting for July 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lindop School gymnasium.
