The Bass Lake Joint Union Elementary School District board voted to approve revisions to its Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) program plan, a document staff said was developed in 2021-22 and updated to reflect current funding requirements.
During the discussion staff explained that to meet funding criteria the program requires a nine-hour breakdown of learning time beyond the school day. The board recorded the motion and took a roll-call vote; the motion carried. A board member seconded the motion during the meeting and the president confirmed the motion carried.
The approved revisions are intended to ensure the district remains compliant with audits and funding rules for extended-learning programs. District staff said they would continue to operationalize the schedule, report fidelity of implementation and align extended programs—such as clubs, STEM centers and tutoring—with the ELO plan.
