Councilman Moria introduced a proposed local law (number 4 of 2026) that would impose a moratorium on placement, installation, storage and occupancy of shipping containers within the town. The board introduced the measure for public hearing and scheduled the hearing for the regular town board meeting on Aug. 24 at 6:00 p.m.; the law text will be available at town hall and on the town website.
“This is gonna be a moratorium on a placement, installation, new storage, and occupancy of shipping containers,” the councilmember said during the meeting. The board directed staff to publish the text and the item will return to the board after the public hearing for further consideration and possible revision.
