Dr. Matt Gordon presented recommended adjustments to substitute wages that would keep Rankin School District #98 competitive. The table included estimated increases of about 3% across categories: substitute teacher estimated pay from $147.90 to $152.34; Secretary, Paraeducator, Custodian and Kitchen Aide substitute rates from $15.00 to $15.45; and Nurse substitute (RN) from $28.36 to $29.21. The Finance Committee expressed comfort with the plan and agreed to forward the recommendations to the full Board of Education.
No formal Board-level approval occurred at the committee meeting; committee members indicated the recommendation will appear on the next full BOE agenda for final action. The recommended increases are shown in the committee’s meeting materials as budgeted estimates for FY26/FY27 adjustments.
