The board approved travel for five Pekin Community High School students and two sponsors to compete at the SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta, June 1–5, 2026.
Superintendent Owens presented the request and the board approved the trip. The students and their events named in board materials were Jennah Vickers (Advertising Design), Kyler Ostlund and Isaiah Graham (Cyber Security), Kendall Garman (Job Interview), and Maximus Helmig (Creative Photography Display). Board members congratulated the students and wished them well at Nationals.
The motion was made by Stephen Huey, seconded by Terry Fischer, and passed with the five members present voting yes.
