The San Gabriel City Council recessed a special meeting to a closed session at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday to discuss anticipated litigation with legal counsel under Government Code section 54956.9(d)(4).
"Conference with legal counsel anticipated litigation pursuant to government code section 54956.9(d)(4)," the chief city clerk announced before the recess. The council returned to open session at 6:16 p.m., and the city attorney delivered the closed-session report, saying the council had considered one item and that "no reportable actions were taken."
The closed session began soon after the meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m. and lasted approximately 44 minutes; the special meeting was adjourned at 6:17 p.m. The council indicated the regular meeting would convene at 6:30 p.m. The council did not disclose details of the litigation item in open session beyond the Government Code citation and the attorney's statement that no reportable action occurred.
