Board adopts policy package, agrees on budget-advisory option and no-fee before/after program
Summary
Trustees adopted a package of board policies and administrative regulations, selecting Option 1 for the budget advisory committee (superintendent may appoint) and Option 1 for BP 5148.2 (no fees for before/after school programs). Trustees also asked staff to clarify visitor sign-in procedures and training for staff when unfamiliar adults are on campus.

The board moved to adopt a package of board policies and administrative regulations and, during discussion, selected specific options for two policies. For BP 3100 (budget advisory committee) trustees agreed on Option 1: the superintendent or designee may appoint a budget advisory committee that can include staff, board representatives and community members. For BP 5148.2 (before/after school programs) trustees selected Option 1, indicating the district will not charge fees for those programs.
Trustees also asked about Policy 1250 concerning visitors. Staff explained the practical check-in process: visitors sign in at the office, receive a sticker/badge, and the system records ID swipes for verification. Staff said drop-offs where a parent does not stay in the building generally do not require a sign-in, but parents who remain on campus must check in so staff can ensure student safety.
The package was adopted after discussion; trustees asked staff to bring any suggested clarifying edits (for example, removing unused option text) to future agendas.
