Staff said the district had planned to use proceeds from the Bass Lake School sale and developer fees to fund portables, but current bid prices make it imprudent to exhaust reserves or general-fund balances to complete the project. The board agreed to pause and revisit options — including scaling back scope or seeking partners — rather than proceed at the higher cost.
