ISBE allocations fall short: Title funding and School Improvement Grant reduced for Rantoul

During the meeting Superintendent Dr. Woods and Finance Director Chris Johnson reported that the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released initial Title allocations that amount to 88.7% of last year's initial allocation, representing a reduction of $132,040 from prior-year initial estimates. The district noted it is unclear whether the lower Title allocation is an initial estimate or an actual reduction.
Officials also reported the FY27 School Improvement Grant allocation included on the consent agenda at $65,000, down from an initial allocation of $228,395 in the prior year. IDEA grants were released at 90% of last year's allocation with the expectation they will be fully funded. District staff said clarifications from ISBE on final allocations remain pending.
