Rankin board approves vendor contracts, curriculum purchase and multiple personnel actions

At the June 22 meeting the Rankin School District #98 Board approved a slate of contracts, curriculum purchases and personnel actions in a series of motions carried primarily by unanimous vote. The board approved the purchase of social studies textbooks and online resources from HMH Education Company and renewed a one-year food-supplier contract with M.J. Kellner Co., Inc. It also approved technology and facilities purchases including a phone-system lease with Heart Technologies, equipment purchases from Hoerr Machinery and Xylem Ltd., and a Bill of Sale with Pekin School District #108 for transferred equipment.
The board also approved several personnel hires and assignments after executive session: Lauren Pierce as a speech and language pathologist, Brady Neal as a split assistant boys basketball coach, Darin Bowling as assistant softball coach, JoAnna Andrew as dance team coach, Amanda McGinn as scholastic bowl coach, and Khristie Brooks as RTI (MTSS)/Title I teacher. The board approved an Application for Payment #3 to J.A. Fritch & Sons, Inc. for RTU-3 replacement. A payment to Donnie Uselton for general repair (Invoice #20260615) passed with President Debbie Lowman recorded as abstaining (vote recorded 3-0-1).
