Board holds student expulsion in abeyance, sets conditions for alternative placement

The resolution requires the student to successfully complete the West40 regional remote program for the remainder of the current school year and to attend the West40 HARBOR Academy for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Board specified behavioral and academic conditions for the abeyance: the student must have no disciplinary issues while in alternative placement, sustain a 90 percent attendance rate, and maintain passing grades. The Board voted AYE: Caputo, Gasca, Hruska, Novak, Williams and Zalas; Mr. Durkin was absent. The Board also directed the Superintendent to provide a written expulsion decision to the parent or guardian outlining the reasons for removal and the length of the disciplinary action.
