The Riverside-Brookfield Township High School District 208 Board of Education reviewed a hearing officer’s report and approved a resolution to expel Student No. 1208014633 for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year and all of the 2026–2027 school year, but the Board held the expulsion in abeyance under specific conditions. The resolution requires the student to successfully complete the West40 regional remote program for the remainder of the current school year and to attend the West40 HARBOR Academy for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Board specified behavioral and academic conditions for the abeyance: the student must have no disciplinary issues while in alternative placement, sustain a 90 percent attendance rate, and maintain passing grades. The Board voted AYE: Caputo, Gasca, Hruska, Novak, Williams and Zalas; Mr. Durkin was absent. The Board also directed the Superintendent to provide a written expulsion decision to the parent or guardian outlining the reasons for removal and the length of the disciplinary action.
