Board authorizes publication of public notice for amended 2025–26 budget; hearing to precede May meeting

During the March 19 meeting, Director of Finance Ms. Jilek presented the 2025–26 amended budget and explained procedural requirements for public notice and inspection. The board authorized publication of a Public Notice of a Public Hearing as required, with the hearing to occur prior to the May 21, 2026 board meeting and the budget available for public inspection at least 30 days beforehand.
Ms. Jilek told the board the amended budget remains on track with no significant changes in overall revenue or expenditures. While expenditures are slightly higher than revenues, she reported that fund balances and underspending in other areas should absorb the increase. The motion to authorize the notice was moved by Mr. Blair and seconded by Mr. Van De Velde and passed unanimously.
