Staff presented SPR24‑103, a proposed two‑story, 2,680 sq ft residence with a detached 650 sq ft three‑car garage and an accessory dwelling unit not before the commission. The applicant, homeowner William Tai, described family space needs and said he would consider skylights and window adjustments to improve daylighting.
The city architect and several commissioners found multiple drafting errors and inconsistencies among the plans, renderings and material board and recommended clearer, consistent color and material notations. One public comment read into the record opposed the detached three‑car garage as disproportionate to the neighborhood. Commissioners asked for corrected material boards, clarified stucco color (gray vs. white) and additional arborist/landscape details for the 15 trees shown for removal to be addressed in the resubmittal. The commission voted 4‑0 to continue the item to a date uncertain to allow the applicant to revise plans and consult the city architect.
