The San Gabriel City Council proclaimed July 2026 as Parks Make Life Better Month and highlighted upcoming park programming.
Community Services Director Perez thanked the council and community partners for supporting parks and recreation programs and turned the proclamation over to Commissioner Nancy Dong, who accepted it on behalf of the Community Services Commission. “I really believe that parks are very important for the city of San Gabriel and San Gabriel Valley in general,” Commissioner Dong said and invited the public to a Walk, Bike and Roll day on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marshall Park. The clerk said the full text of the proclamation is available on the city’s website.
The presentation also noted coordination with Public Works for park maintenance and with the Police Department for an e‑bike safety presentation at the Aug. 8 event.
