The commission approved an independent-contractor agreement with Jade LLC (consultant Georgine Malloy) to provide administrative and consultative services related to NCIC/CJIS and Spillman records-quality and audit readiness for the Elko County Sheriff's Office.
Undersheriff Ames described Malloy as the office’s long-time Spillman expert who provides around-the-clock support when the records or dispatch systems need repair and noted the contract amount has been stable for years. Commissioners asked about a termination/non-appropriation clause; staff and counsel recommended adding the county’s standard termination language so the agreement can be ended if funds are not appropriated in future budgets. The board approved the contract with that amendment.
Why it matters: The contract supports critical records and dispatch-system functions that affect arrest histories, extraditions and delivery of criminal-history information to the district attorney’s office.
What’s next: Staff will finalize the contract with standard termination/non-appropriation language and execute the agreement.
