Silver Lake J1 board approves education-for-employment plan to boost middle-school career readiness

The Silver Lake J1 School District board voted unanimously to adopt an Education for Employment annual notice and academic‑career planning framework designed to give middle‑school students a clearer path toward local career opportunities.

District staff described the plan as a legally required annual notice (PI‑26) that will be posted on the district website and included in registration. The framework directs grade‑level progressions for grades 6–8, integrates labor‑market data and industry partnerships, and uses a RIASEC career‑interest assessment so students can begin aligning class choices with career pathways.
