Council hears plan for $8 million wastewater-plant rehabilitation

Staff said the city issued $2 million previously and is proposing to issue another $6 million this year to fund construction; some contracts (the EQ basin rehab and GMP 1 for mechanical equipment) have already been awarded and construction is expected to begin in October or November.
The Presenter acknowledged some transcript numbers were inconsistent and clarified the financing picture to council: the total program was described repeatedly in the meeting as roughly $8 million, while an isolated line in the transcript showed an erroneously large figure that staff said should be read as a smaller line-item estimate. The council asked staff to return with forthcoming contract awards (fine-screen work remained to be awarded before year-end).
