Board adopts multiple policy updates from Press Plus Issue 121

On a recommendation from the Board Policy Committee, Salt Creek SD 48’s Board adopted multiple policy updates compiled in Press Plus Issue 121. The changes span governance, operational services, personnel practices, instructional policies and student conduct.
The adopted updates include guidance on board-member communications and email use (2:140-E), meeting procedures (2:220), records access (2:250), uniform grievance process (2:260), personnel leaves and hiring criteria (5:30, 5:250), prevention of child sexual abuse awareness (4:165), student social and emotional development (6:65), and several student conduct and health policies including immunizations and teen dating violence (7:20–7:300). Mr. Cuny asked for a motion; Mr. Blair moved and Mr. Kielminski seconded. The motion passed with all present voting yea and Mr. Downer absent.
Board members did not propose additional amendments during the meeting. The approval places the updated policy language into district governing documents for implementation by staff and incorporation into the policy manual.
