The Township High School District 208 Board of Education on June 9 approved the tentative fiscal year 2027 budget, which administration reported currently projects a deficit of approximately $223,913. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kristin Smetana presented the second draft and noted the Finance Advisory Council reviewed the budget on June 4.
Under the approved motion (Resolution #15281, moved by Board member Lorena Gasca and seconded by William Durkin), the Board directed administration to update the budget with June 30 actual numbers and present revised drafts at the July and August meetings ahead of final adoption in September. The vote to approve the tentative budget was unanimous among members present; Mr. Patrick Williams was absent.
