Commissioner Nathan Leiker told the board that Ellis County EMS continues to respond at a rate of more than 10 runs per day, and he noted the county jail had returned to capacity and was briefly over capacity, requiring the county to house inmates outside Ellis County.
"It has been running for several years now at over 10 runs per day," Leiker said, and he added that the sheriff's jail was back to capacity and "actually overcapacity." The remarks were presented as part of the monthly departmental reports and were not accompanied by a separate motion or requested direction from the board.
