New nonprofit Still Hope Ranch seeks county support, plans two-year residential program

Martha Duffy introduced Still Hope Ranch as a newly formed Kaufman County nonprofit offering a two-year structured residential program for women who have been trafficked and exploited. "My name is Martha Duffy and, we just started a new ministry here in Kaufman. It's called Still Hope Ranch and we are a safe house for women who have been *** trafficked and exploited," she told the court.
Duffy said the first annual fundraiser, a clay shoot, is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7 at the Texas Gun Ranch and that a cattlemen's ball in October will also fund the ministry. She said the facility is undisclosed and outside city limits and that the program will work with Rescue America and law enforcement to identify residents. The court did not take financial action but commissioners encouraged coordination with the sheriff on location and safety protocols.
