Tandy outlined the proposed pay steps (1% for the first certification, 3% for CIRA and 1% for the third step) and said recertification would trigger smaller adjustments. "The impact we're this this is really truthfully a minimal impact," Tandy said, and noted that many election personnel costs are largely recouped when the county conducts contracted elections.
Tandy also asked for an additional full-time election clerk and said the office preferred candidates with a bachelor's or related certification; commissioners asked for the fiscal details and the auditor confirmed quarterly or midyear reimbursement patterns for some grants and contract recoveries. The court did not take final action at the workshop and asked staff to include the request in budget scenarios.
