Chanute board elects leadership, confirms yearly appointments

The board also approved a set of annual appointments and designations for 2026–2027. Those approved include Attorney Kurt Kluin; auditors Jarred Gilmore and Phillips PA; Federal Projects official Dr. Heather Burris; Hearing Officer Matthew Koester; Food Service Representative Terri Markham; Asbestos Coordinator G. Mike Golay; Freedom of Information Officer Matthew Koester; Official Custodian for school records Tamara Slane; and District Treasurer Kelly Colter. The board additionally designated The Chanute Tribune as the newspaper for legal publications.
The actions were presented as routine annual governance items to ensure statutory compliance and operational continuity for the coming school year. No dissent was recorded.
