The Durand Area Schools Board of Education convened at 7:01 p.m. on June 29, 2026, with Board President Darrick Huff presiding. The board completed routine business including approval of the agenda and consent items before moving to several financial and governance actions.
The board unanimously approved a 2025–26 budget amendment and adopted the 2026–27 budget. Members also approved a resolution to borrow through the Michigan Municipal Bond Authority in an amount not to exceed $2,600,000 and voted to eliminate per-meeting stipends for board members effective in the 2025–2026 school year. Board members discussed forming Revenue and Expense committees and set two future regular meetings for July 13 and August 3, 2026.
