Superintendent Mike Kapolka reported to the Board that the district's Schools of Choice application window closed on June 3. "We received 63 applications with 13 of them being current CSD students that plan to move outside of the district, but would like to remain enrolled with us," he said, and noted that the remaining 50 applications show a trend of higher numbers at early entry points (Y5s/Kindergarten) and ninth grade.
The number of applications will be used for seat planning and staffing assumptions in the preliminary budget process; Board members asked staff to continue monitoring enrollment trends ahead of fall scheduling and staffing decisions.
