The Chelsea School District Board approved two major purchases on May 18: a Y5s furniture purchase for $116,600.82 and a transportation routing software purchase for $102,247. "Motion to approve the Y5s Furniture Purchase," was recorded as the motion that passed with six yeas and one absence; the transportation software motion likewise passed unanimously among members present.
Board members said the furniture purchase will be funded through the district’s 2019 bond and that the routing software will be funded through a combination of the sinking fund, bond and transportation budget. Michelle Craig moved both motions; Sara Tracy seconded the furniture and transportation motions. The record shows the board approved both items without recorded opposition.
