Board approves replacement sinking fund resolution, may fund buses and transportation

The board approved the Operating and Sinking Fund Resolution (Action Item 62-25-26) after a recommendation in the meeting packet. Michelle Craig moved to approve the resolution and Glenn Fox seconded; the motion passed with six yeas and one absence.
Board members and staff emphasized that this resolution is a replacement sinking fund rather than a renewal, and that sinking-fund revenue can be used for transportation and bus purchases as well as unexpected operational costs. District staff said King Media will assist with the public campaign related to the measure.
The board recorded the approval as part of the evening’s action items and will include campaign planning and public outreach in the coming months. A final ballot timing for any bond unrelated to the sinking fund was discussed elsewhere in the meeting (bond planning timeline targets a possible November 2027 ballot).
