The Mendon Community School District Board of Education recognized Gold Star members of the Class of 2026 during the May 18 meeting. Administrator Kretschman introduced each student and the students briefly described who accompanied them, their post‑graduation plans and a teacher or coach who influenced them.
Examples recorded in the minutes: Rowan Allen said she plans to attend Campbellsville University to study sports medicine and play softball; McKenzie Bakeman plans to attend MSU to study biology; Madelyn McLove has enlisted in the Air Force; Taylor Zinsmaster will attend WMU to become a large‑animal veterinarian. Board President Regina Schinker thanked the Gold Star recipients on behalf of the board and refreshments were served before the meeting resumed.
