ISD staff outline budget timeline, MDE findings and ADA website training

During the administrative reports portion of the April 16 meeting, Superintendent Ethan Ebenstein said the district will advertise and distribute information about the Special Education Millage Restoration Election to local districts and the public. Fiscal Services Director Marvin Van Nortwick said general fund budgets for 2026-2027 have been sent to local districts and that he and the superintendent will begin presentations to constituent districts; the ISD board will be provided its budget information in mid-May.
Special Education Director Natalie Fuller reported the Michigan Department of Education's final report from its January on-site visit, noting there were no major issues and that the ISD has one year to correct any identified findings. Technology Director John Milewski said new legislation requires attention to ADA information on websites and that he will coordinate training with Montcalm ISD on May 14, 2026. Ted Paton presented the Ionia County Career Center report "as presented."
