Mason Board of Education does not meet after failing to reach quorum

The Mason Board of Education did not call its regular June 11 meeting to order after School Board President Liz Evans told the public that a quorum was not present. "The Board must have at least four members present in order to discuss or make decisions on Board business," Evans said, and listed members present (Steve Duane, Amy Lark and Liz Evans) and members not available (Christopher Mumby, Bryan Droscha, Matt Bennett and Lacy Harding).
Because the board lacked the four members required to conduct business, no votes or official decisions were taken. The agenda proceeded in a non-meeting format for announcements and recognitions; the board secretary signed the draft minutes as provided. The board did not set a new meeting date in the minutes that appear in the record.
