Following passage of the MOU, council members agreed to form an ad hoc committee to work with RCMBA and return with a defined project scope, engineering plans, and a funding strategy. Council member (S1) said the project will likely require amendments to building and planning permits if it deviated from earlier approvals and that the council must appropriate funds explicitly should it choose to proceed.
Council and RCMBA discussed changing the reporting cadence in the MOU; RCMBA requested biannual reporting to reduce volunteer burden and council members indicated twice-yearly reporting would probably be adequate. Council directed staff to coordinate an ad hoc meeting schedule, gather outstanding documentation, and return to council with a recommended timeline and any permit or budget requests.
