Board members discussed a proposal to add middle‑school girls basketball to the Raider Athletics co-op for the 2026–27 school year to increase participation and strengthen the JV/varsity pipeline.
President Denise Churchill asked whether the change could increase female sports participation; Matt Johnson said combining teams could help drive numbers. Johnson urged a prompt decision because scheduling, coach assignments and uniform orders must be set ahead of the season: "MS Girls Basketball the sooner the better due to scheduling. Get the coaches in place, order uniforms, contact opponents." Board members continued to flag transportation as an outstanding operational issue—Caid and Johnson noted ad hoc solutions such as staff driving students and using the 3:05 bus when available.
No formal board vote on adding the middle‑school girls basketball co‑op occurred at the meeting; superintendents were asked to collaborate and present formal proposals at a future meeting so boards can consider scheduling and logistical implications.
