The board conditionally approved an overnight field trip for LSPS fourth-grade students to Mackinac Island on May 11–13, 2027. Susan DeLong moved and Kenneth Gulock seconded the motion; trustees voted unanimously among members present.
Ms. Stephenson confirmed reservations are in place and explained there are deadlines to adjust numbers; she told the board, "We have never turned any students away." Trustees asked whether a minimum number was required and noted the district has historically accommodated students when possible. The approval is conditional pending final student counts and logistics.
