Ionia ISD board approves multi-year contracts with teaching and support staff unions

The Ionia County Intermediate School District Board of Education approved two negotiated collective bargaining agreements at the June 11 meeting.
The board approved the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029 Ionia Intermediate Education Association (IIEA) contract and the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029 Ionia Intermediate Support Personnel Association (IISPA) contract. Both motions were presented as part of the Action Items and passed unanimously by roll call vote.
Board President Linda Hoxie-Green moved to approve the IIEA agreement; Amber Rood seconded that motion. The IISPA agreement was moved by Randy Masterson and supported by Kerry Possehn. The board recorded both approvals in the meeting minutes.
Why it matters: multi-year collective bargaining agreements set salaries, benefits and working conditions for certificated and support personnel and will govern employer-employee terms for the next three years.
