Prince George's Community College urges caution: advisor grant not guaranteed past 2026

"I have not yet heard that there's a commitment from the state to fund these advisers beyond '26," Railey said, adding that advising offices traditionally focus on transfer pathways rather than career and technical education, so the county must demonstrate results to preserve the current CTE advising focus. He urged the committee to track connections, CTE enrollment and credential completion to make the case for continued funding to the General Assembly.
Council members pressed for specific outcome metrics and asked the college and county staff to provide school‑ and district‑level data showing how many students are reached, pathway completions and job placements so the county can responsibly advocate to state legislators for sustained grant funding.
