SITELOGIQ presents facilities assessment, urges 10-year master plan for New Buffalo Area Schools

SITELOGIQ representatives Karlee Wheeler and Peter Bush, joined by Director of Operations Mark German, presented the results of the district's comprehensive facilities assessment and an outline for a 10-year Master Facility Plan.

The consultants highlighted priorities across district buildings — HVAC systems, boilers, roofing, flooring, lighting, ADA compliance, windows and doors — and said the district would use a centralized platform to manage and prioritize projects. "mySiteIQ facility management platform" was described as the tool that will help organize facility data and support long-term maintenance and capital planning. The presenters emphasized that the cost figures shown were "rough order-of-magnitude estimates intended for planning purposes." The team also outlined possible funding strategies and next steps for board consideration.

Board members heard that the assessment focuses first on safety- and code-related items and then on efficiency and lifecycle replacements. SITELOGIQ provided preliminary cost-estimating methods and advised that further phase-specific design and more detailed estimating will be required before any final project budgets are set. The presentation closed with a recommendation that the district consider the Master Facility Plan as a multi-year roadmap rather than an immediate construction schedule.
