The commission approved a variance permitting placement of a 240‑square‑foot travel trailer with a 68‑foot lake setback where 100 feet is required on a unique property in Roosevelt Township. Staff noted a wetland replacement plan had been submitted and that TEP had held decisions pending the board's action because wetland replacement planning depends on whether access is authorized.
A commissioner said the site is unique and it was the only feasible place for the travel trailer; after review of findings of fact in the packet a motion to approve the variance with four staff conditions was moved, seconded and passed. Staff reminded the applicants that permits and any required wetland replacement approvals must be finalized in line with the board's action.
