Commission reviews Public Safety Fair; weather and date conflicted with North Country Fair
Summary
Commissioners said the Sept. 20 Public Safety Fair had strong participation from agencies (12 of 14 sign-ups) but turnout suffered from rain, competing events and limited publicity; they recommended changing next year's date and improving visibility between attractions.

Commissioners recapped the Sept. 20 Public Safety Fair during the Nov. 3 meeting and identified key lessons for next year: select a date that does not conflict with other community events, secure free food or better vendor planning, and improve the event layout so attractions are visually connected.
Chair (Adeline Jones) and Commissioner Lynn Glenn said 12 of 14 registered agencies attended and praised volunteers who filled staffing gaps caused by cuts to AmeriCorps. Commissioners suggested returning the fair to its traditional weekend and improving publicity and vendor coordination to increase attendance.
